Dartington Plus is launching a forum for professional and semi-professional South West based music managers after the need for a group of this kind was identified during the Artist Management Course that took place in April 2006 as part of the South West Sound music convention.
The purpose of the group is to give voice and combined power to the mangers working in the South West, to encourage and mentor inexperienced and start out managers and to provide good networking opportunities for those of us working in the profession. The group will also forge contacts with the national Music Managers Forum.
The inaugural meeting of the group was at Colston Hall in Bristol on Thursday 3rd August and the group will continue to meet on a regular basis.
The group is open to anyone working in or with management including self-managed artists.
This is an exciting development for the music business in the South West and thanks go to the South West Music Industry Forum for their support.
