m&de - Music And Dance Exchange - is a residential interdisciplinary performance laboratory for professional artists and researchers, based at Dartington.
m&de allows participants to explore collaborations between the disciplines of music and dance, with the additional involvement of theatre, visual and digital arts, to create starting points for new performance work.
m&de provides essential time for artists to investigate new aspects of performance work; to engage in creative practice-based research where the focus is on process, not product. The aim is not only to initiate work during the lab but to encourage connections through which work may come to fruition at a later date.
m&de is entirely free of charge to successful applicants. All costs during the lab are generously covered by the programme partners, including all studio spaces, equipment, food, accommodation and mentoring.
