The Arts & Ecology programme brings together artists, scientists, ecologists and a range of other practitioners to examine the connections between arts and ecology. The project aims to develop new collaborations across artistic and scientific disciplines that will enable us understand the complex relationships between the individual, the community and the natural world and help us to develop sustainable communities.
The programme was launched in September 2005 with the sell-out Desire Lines, an international symposium that took place on the estate over three days from Thursday 8th to Saturday 10th September. Contributors and participants included organisations and individuals from the US, Canada, China, Israel, New Zealand, Germany, France and the UK.
Arts & Ecology at Dartington continues to contribute to the international dialogue on arts and ecology with a programme that includes a lecture series, long-term research projects, a taught MA in Arts & Ecology (at Dartington College of Arts) and the annual Desire Lines symposium.
Desire Lines 2006 took place at Dartington between 25th and 27th October. Please click here to visit the Desire Lines website.
