Dartington Plus are pleased to announce THE WATERBOYS as a headline act of the South West Sound 2005 music festival taking place at Dartington Hall from 25 to 30 April.
The Waterboys are one of the most challenging and influential British acts of the last two decades. Moving between the worlds of rock and folk music, they have given us acclaimed classic albums such as This Is The Sea and Fisherman's Blues, as well as 2003's mystical, luminous Universal Hall.
Led by guitarist, songwriter and singer Mike Scott, and featuring magical Irish fiddler Steve Wickham and English piano maestro Richard Naiff, the group are performing an acoustic concert at Dartington Hall on Friday 29 April at 8pm, as part of the six-day South West Sound music festival.
Alongside The Waterboys, there are over 60 bands and musicians performing throughout the week at South West Sound, including The Scorpion Band, Black Voices, Seth Lakeman, the Totnes Jazz Collective and Britten Sinfonia.
For tickets to any of the South West Sound concerts call the Dartington box office on 01803 847070.
As well as live performances South West Sound includes keynote talks, seminars and workshops and aims to celebrate, develop and support music in the South West. For more information on this event visit www.southwestsound.org.uk
