Over the coming weeks, South West Sound will again uncover the finest new music being made in the region with the 3rd Annual South West Sound Search.
The best new music discovered will be compiled onto 10,000 South West Sound/Music Week cover mounted CDs. Distributed to music industry executives throughout the UK and abroad, Music Week is the definitive music industry trade title. South West Sound Search is the perfect showcase for any new act that wants to be seen, but more importantly heard, by the music business.
But being on 10000 cover mounts isn’t the end of the story. Every artist featured will also be offered a showcase at The Bristol Fringe night or Dartington during South West Sound 2008 and at least one unsigned artist will be offered a singles deal with South West Recordings and follow in the footsteps of XTC, Robert Plant, The Stone Roses, Oasis, The Verve, Supergrass and Muse by recording at Sawmills Studios.
And South West Sound Search delivers results. Of the 15 artists featured in 2007, 14 were directly approached by record labels, 7 received national radio play on the BBC and Pinstripe, who released their debut single on South West Recordings, signed a management deal, toured extensively throughout England, played at Glastonbury Festival and are currently recording their debut album.
If you want to be seen by the business, you need to enter South West Sound Search 2008.
