In April 2004, Dartington Plus will be hosting a South West Music Symposium - ‘Future Opportunities, New Challenges’.

This event, the first of its kind in the region, will take place at Dartington Hall in Devon from Monday 19 Friday 23 April 2004. Each day will include an introduction to Dartington Plus, keynote speakers, live music and break out groups focusing on the successes, opportunities and challenges for music in the South West Region. A must for anyone involved in music.

Each day will be devoted to a different area of music, as follows:

Day 1 Classical Music
Day 2 Jazz, Folk & World
Day 3 Music Education
Day 4 Community Music
Day 5 Music Industry

Matt Griffiths, Development Director for Dartington Plus, said:
“We’re really looking forward to this exciting event at Dartington, a first for the region. It will be an ideal opportunity for delegates to contribute towards future ideas for the development of music in the South West region!”.

Running alongside the Symposium is a series of five free evening concerts, which reflect the daily themes of the convention. These concerts are held daily in the Great Hall and open to delegates and public alike.
