Designed for local rock & pop musicians, bands, managers, producers, record companies and publishers, this seminar aims to encourage the growth of the music industry in the South West. It’s a direct result of the successful, first ever, South West Music Symposium - ‘Future Opportunities, New Challenges’, organised in April 2004 by Dartington Plus and the Centre for Creative Enterprise & Participation (CCEP) at Dartington College of Arts.
The seminar will feature an introduction by Adrian Bossey, who is the current music industry specialist at the Centre for Creative Enterprise & Participation. Adrian has been a professional band manager to acts including Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine, Chumbawumba, Drugstore, My Life Story and The Senseless Things. The guest speakers will then talk about their jobs and describe ways of building a career as a composer or publisher. There’ll be plenty of time for questions, discussion and networking.
