What does Dartington Plus do?
Dartington Plus aims to support long term participation in music and the arts for all people in the south west. We strive to inspire, to innovate and to motivate, while developing real opportunities for audiences and for artists, to ensure the south west is recognised as a region of musical excellence.
We set up a wide range of music and arts activity for creative practitioners ranging from gifted and talented young artists with a gift for music, through those just starting out in a career to experienced professionals developing their practice.
We also promote performances by artists who might otherwise not visit our region, as well as shout about music in the south west everywhere we can and in every way we can.
What geographical area does Dartington Plus cover?
Dartington Plus works in the South West of England, in Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Somerset (including Bristol) and Wiltshire.
Who runs Dartington Plus?
Dartington Plus is centred on a unique and exciting partnership between The Dartington Hall Trust (encompassing Dartington ARTS and Dartington International Summer School), Dartington College of Arts and King Edward VI Community College (KEVICC).
Through this ‘creative cluster’ - a charitable trust with a strong history of arts & cultural activity, a higher education institution specialising in the arts and a community college with performing arts status Dartington Plus delivers a wide and eclectic portfolio with a strong and very natural emphasis on music & arts education in all its many forms, benefiting from the skills and experience of each of the partners.
Can I get a grant from Dartington Plus?
Dartington Plus does not give grants to organisations and individuals. However, we are always interested in developing partnerships to create unique activities by sharing resources and expertise and to maximise the collective impact of our work.
How can Dartington Plus help me develop my career?
We aim to enable creative practitioners to not only develop their practice but also their business and future careers. We do this though a variety of training courses, projects and seminars. We are also interested in in ensuring the development of well equipped and suitably skilled practitioners for the future.
We aim to offer new opportunities in the south west, which complement existing activity rather than duplicate. Our role for the south west is to raise the profile of music beyond the region and support practitioners and organisations who live and work here.
